Eric Hanson Scholarship Nominations Accepted

That time of year has come for student-athletes to apply for the Feasterville Business Association's Eric Hanson Memorial Scholarship Award. The form needs to be completed and submitted to the FBA by April 1, along with copy of a school transcript showing first semester grades and class rank and three letters of recommendation (one from a coach, teacher and another noon-relative).

The FBA hands out three monetary awards of at least $500 to each recipient that meet the criteria. The winners will be announced by the FBA in May and also receive a certificate of recognition and a plaque.

Those interested need to meet the following guidelines:

• Student must be currently involved in a sports activity, either high school or club level or be performing voluntary services for the Lower Southampton Athletic Association AND must have played in LSAA programs (or the GALS softball program) for at least 3 years.
• Student must be a senior in the top half of his/her high school graduating class.
• Student must be able to substantiate his/her ability to be a leader on the field.
• The scholarship is not available to any student who has been awarded a full scholarship from the college- university of his/her choice.

The Eric Hanson Memorial Scholarship is named after Eric Hanson, who was tragically killed in a car accident on Brownsville Road in Trevose in 1991.
