Robert Copeland to Serve as Neshaminy's Superintendent

The Neshaminy School Board elected Robert Copeland as the district's new superintendent.

Robert Copeland is Neshaminy School District's new superintedent. He follows in the shoes of Louis Muenker, who retired in June after 20 years of service in the district.

Copeland, who was elected by the Neshaminy School Board Wednesday night in a special public meeting, comes to Neshaminy after serving about 11 years at the Piscataway School District in New Jersey.

"I am so much looking forward to coming to work here in Neshaminy," Copeland said after the board unanimously approved the motion to hire him.

In addition, Copeland said that he looks at serving as Neshaminy's superintendent as a "stewardship" and is looking forward to "moving the district forward."

Copeland participated in a in which he communicated that he is a hands-on leader who likes to make sure beneficial district and school policies and programs do not dissolve.

A "listening tour" is Copeland's first line of business, he said.

"The beginnings are about getting to know everyone on a one-on-one basis," he said to Patch.

"It's a new beginning," board member Mark Shubin said of Copeland joining the district, adding that Copeland is a "data-driven leader" and "CEO-type of superintedent."

"I think he's the right guy at the right time," Shubin said.

Do you agree with the district's decision to appoint Copeland as the new superintendent? Vote in the poll below.

I worked under this man for a number of years and he was never interested in getting to know everyone on a one-to-one basis. What a laugh. Perhaps this district is smaller. He also IS very power and dollar driven. We would have been a "passing through" district if NJ had retained the Demorcratic govt., however, the next gov. voted in was Cristi. Copeland was downright mean to the teaching staff. In his words at one of our faculty meetings he pretty much said: there is the door if you don't like what you see. The assist. super used to wait until he was in a good mood to approach him and there was word of him having an affair w/ the PR person who quickly climbed the ladder in adminstration. Good luck Neshaminy, you will need it!

Well, that is not a good sign.......ughhh. I just want the NSB and NFT to come to some sort of resolution. I don't think the District can take much more of this.
