Jacqueline Rattigan has served as Neshaminy's director of elementary and secondary education and, more recently, as the district's acting superintendent during the search for a permanent replacement.
But come October 1, 2012, Rattigan will be Neshaminy's assistant superintedent. She will be working closely with the district's new superintendent Robert Copeland, who will also begin his new position October 1.
The Neshaminy School Board unanimously voted to promote Rattigan during the public meeting Tuesday night.
"You jumped in a have done a great job as the acting superintendent and we thank you for that," board President Ritchie Webb said Tuesday night.
Former superintendent Louis Muenker retired in June after working in the district for more than 20 years. It was at this time that the board appointed Rattigan as the acting superintendent.
Copeland, who was elected by the Neshaminy School Board in a special public meeting in August, comes to Neshaminy after serving about 11 years at the Piscataway School District in New Jersey.
