NFT, School Board Will Not Negotiate Tonight

The NFT and Neshaminy School Board had a negotiation session previously scheduled for Tuesday night.

Prior to the , the union and Neshaminy School Board were scheduled to negotiate terms of a new contract Tuesday night.

However, school board President Ritchie Webb told Patch that the board will not be attending this meeting. He stated that state mediators John Cairns and William Gross were advised of the board's intentions and neither will be in attendance this evening either. In a NFT press release issued Monday, NFT President Louis Boyd stated that the union still planned on attending this meeting.

"There will not be a further bargaining session until there is a mutually agreed date, and at least one mediator in attendance," Webb said.

The and, according to Webb, is currently engaged in developing a new proposal for the NFT. In addition, Webb has offered both mediators six tentative dates for future negotiations with the union and is awaiting word through the mediators from union officials if those dates are acceptable to them.


 
"I know this process has been a strain on everyone, and I repeat my request to our entire community to remain calm and carry on. Let's get the while the board and NFT refocus our collective efforts towards future, and hopefully more productive, negotiations," Webb said.
