Neshaminy Seniors Receive FBA Scholarship

Two graduating Neshaminy seniors were awarded scholarships from the Feasterville Business Association.

The Feasterville Business Association recently gave out two Neshaminy High School seniors from the class of 2012 college scholarships.

Jonathan Bell, of Trevose, and Chris Kutsubos, of Feasterville, were awarded $1,200 college scholarships from the FBA, it was announced by Dr. James H. Barrett and Charles A. Roman, co-chairpersons of the FBA’s college scholarship committee. Dr. Gary Bowman also served on the selection committee.

According to Barrett and Roman, “The scholarship awards were based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities and community service."

Bell graduated first in his class of 635 students with a 4.45 grade point average and plans to major in biology at the University of  Pennsylvania. Kutsubos ranked 44th overall in the class and had a 4.0 grad point average. He plans to attend the Smeall College of Business at Penn State University and major in finance with minors in economics and international business.

In addition, Bell was active in numerous school activities including being the president of the National Honor Society and of The Future Problem Solvers and was captain of the of the school’s Mathletes. He additionally participated in the drama club, performed in three musicals, and was a member of the Model UN and men’s choir. Outside of school, he served as a volunteer at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and also volunteered in the area’s Adopt-A-Highway Program. He is the son of Todd and Roberta Bell.

Kutsubos is a member of the National Honor Society and is a captain of the Neshaminy Redskins football team. Additionally, he volunteered at area Red Cross Blood Drives, did volunteer gardening work at his middle school and assisted senior neighbors with clearing snow and mowing lawns. He is the son of Nicholos and Ann Marie Kutsubos.
