There is a lot missing here. Did he grab the jersey to keep him from going on the field??? Did he grab the jersey to get his attention to talk to him about the game??? What were the circumstances at to why he grabbed the jersey; how he grabbed the jersey and the intensity he grabbed it?????

I was at the game, saying he grabbed the jersey is a huge understatement. He forcefully pulled the player from the playing field. He is lucky to not have injured the player. This was a sixteen year old kid, and Coach Schmidt is a teacher at NHS. How can you not fire this man for his actions? If it were in the classroom would it be acceptable?

@Bill, Yes grabbing a kid in the classroom would be inappropriate. On the football field it is also not acceptable. After an investigation they decided to suspend the coach for one game. That sounds about right. As far as injuring the kid he is a football player in pads with a helmet on he probably is bigger then the coach anyway. Why try to turn this into something bigger?

Is anyone even thinking about what the player did to get Coach so mad? The young man got a personal foul....why? Because he (the young man) was doing something wrong, something Coach has told them not to do over and over again. These are very big YOUNG MEN with a lot of strength. Sometimes they need to be put in their place. My son played for Neshaminy for 3 years and has learned some very valuable life lessons from Coach. Please don't confuse how one acts in a classroom with how one coaches a football team. It's apples and oranges.
