Neshaminy High School Teacher to Study Abroad This Summer

In July, a NHS teacher will travel to Belize to study conservation and marine ecology.

Neshaminy High School teacher James Maloney, of Levittown, was selected " to participate this summer in global graduate studies that focus on studying conservation and marine ecology in the Central American country of Belize," according to the school district's website.

Maloney will join a group of 20 other educators in July to study diverse terrestrial, coastal and coral reef communities at the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center, Gales Point and Tobacco Caye.

While in Belize, the group will "join local scientists investigating conservation programs for such species as harpy eagles and jaguars, and they will also explore manatee population dynamics within Belize's rich coastal environment with members of the Wildlife Trust," as stated on the district's website.
