Joint School Committee OKs Tech School Budget

It now must be approved by sending districts including Neshaminy.

The Bucks County Technical High School Joint Board Committee approved a $20.9 million budget 8-4 on Monday, according to a story onPhillyBurbs.com.

The Committee is comprised of 14 members from the school's six sending school districts (, Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Morrisville, Neshaminy and Pennsbury). According to PhillyBurbs, the 2011-2012 budget must be approved by the school boards of those sending districts. Members from Morrisville, Neshaminy and Bristol voted no on the budget.

The article said the district’s proposed budget is over $500,000 less than the current budget. The budget includes a staff reduction of 20 positions including three teachers, according to the story.

The Technical High School, located in Fairless Hills, offers technical instruction in the following academies: Construction/Manufacturing, Creative Arts, Services, Technology and Transportation.
