PennDOT Investment Assists Police with Seat-Belt Enforcement

PennDOT's is investing federal funds to state and municipal police to aid in seat-belt enforcement.

With the "Click it or Ticket" campaign running through June 12, PennDOT is helping police state wide with enforcing seat-belt use. More than 600 law enforcement agencies state wide are participating in the “Click it or Ticket” campaign.

According to a press release issued by PennDOT, $91,000 in federal funds for Pennsylvania State Police and $775,000 in federal funds for municipal police will be invested by PennDOT to cover "overtime and equipment costs for law enforcement to conduct seat-belt enforcement in two waves this year."

At least half of all enforcement will take place during the night, when seat-belt use is typically lower, as stated in the release.
