Lower Southampton Parks & Rec Director Resigns

Marian Gilbert, Lower Southampton Township's Parks and Recreation Director, has resigned.

The Lower Southampton Board of Supervisors approved the resignation of the township's Parks and Recreation Director Marian Gilbert Wednesday night.

Gilbert served as the director of the Parks and Recreation department for about four years, during which time she worked "diligently to diversify the department" and helped "diversify" the township's summer camps, Chairman John McMenamin said.

She also made the Dolphin Swim Club a "great place to spend hot summer days," he stated.

The board as a whole, through a proclamation, expressed "appreciation and gratitude" for her service to the township.

"She really took our Parks and Recreation Department a long way in the few years she was here," McMenamin said.
