LED Streetlights Are Coming to Lower Southampton

The Lower Southampton Board of Supervisors approved preliminary engineering to begin installing LED streetlights.

Wednesday evening, the unanimously voted to approve preliminary engineering to begin the process of bringing LED streetlights to Lower Southampton.

The preliminary engineering, which will be done by Remington, Vernick & Beach Engineers, will involve a field review of the existing streetlight system "to identify the existing location, type and power requirements of all light fixtures to be replaced," as stated in the firm's proposal.

Following this review, the engineering firm will present its findings to the township and make recommendations for light fixture replacements, which will be based on "aesthetic appeal, efficiency goals, budgetary requirements, and ease of maintainence and operation," according to the proposal.
