The two vehicles appeared to have collided. Medical personnel told police that the Mitsubishi was westbound on Elmwood, failed to stop a stop sign, and hit the white truck broadside, causing the truck to spin out of control with the trailer landing on and through a fence. The driver of the truck said he saw the Mitsubishi at the last second and realized it was driving too fast to stop. He tried to avoid the Mitsubishi, but wasn't able to. He said he was driving 35 mph. Police were speaking to the driver of the Mitsubishi, Scott Farrow, 23 of Wycombe, when they detected the odor of alcohol coming from him. His eyes appeared glassy, his speech was slurred and officers were concerned that Farrow might not have been able to operate his car safely due to alcohol consumption.  Farrow refused to blow into a portable breath test. He then failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI. He consented to a blood draw. Charges will be filed once the blood results are returned from the crime lab.
