Burglary - Forced Entry

The complainant reported that a male smashed in the rear door and made entry into her home. She reported seeing the male running toward a mid-2000s red four-door sedan and was last seen traveling eastbound on Woodlyn Drive toward Brownsville Road. According to the complainant, she was on the first floor of the residence with her two-month-old child when she heard someone banging on the front door. She looked out one of the front windows and didn't see anyone standing near the front door; as she was looking out the window, she heard a window break in the rear of the house. She ran to a second floor bedroom, locked the door and put her child in the closet. The complainant then heard someone walking up the steps and then tried to open her bedroom door, but the door was locked. The suspect then kicked the door in, stared at her for about 30 seconds and then ran down the steps and left through the front door toward the red car. The complainant described the suspect as having a darker complexion, possibly Indian or Hispanic, about 25 years old, short, thin and wearing a dark baseball hat, a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans. No items were taken from the home, but the damage to the door is estimated at $225.
