While on patrol, Officer William Schmid observed a green Dodge van traveling East on Street Road with heavily tinted rear windows that did not allow Schmid to see clear into the vehicle. He stopped the van in McDonald's parking lot. When Schmid made contact with Walter Butrica, 37 of Croydon, he immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Schmid asked Butrica if he had anything illegal in his van; he stated he had a nickle bag of marijuana in his van. He handed Schmid this item. Butrica was cited at the scene for disorderly conduct, sunscreening and other materials prohibited.
Theft from Automobile

Officer Brian Walter responded to the victim's residence for a report of a theft from a vehicle, which occurred sometime overnight. The victim reported that he came out to his 2001 Ford F-250 pick-up truck today for work and noticed his Miter Saw and a circular saw were missing out of his truck. He stated that he parked the truck in the driveway and was unsure if it was left unlocked. Some loose change was also taken at that time. The saws are estimated to be valued at $450.
