LSFD Receives Community Donation

The Woodlyn Crossing Homeowners Association presented the Lower Southampton Fire Department with donations.

Wednesday evening, the Woodlyn Crossing Homeowners Association presented 's Deputy Chief Stephen Brooks with a donation for the fire department.

According to the association manager Richard Kassoway, $500 was donated "to demonstrate our community's appreciation of the Department's commitment."

The money that was donated came, in part, from the association's budget and then from the association's board of directors' personal contributions.

The Lower Southampton Fire Department was chosen as the recipient of the donation "as a result of their emergency responses" in addition to the department's past efforts to help plan and designate non-parking areas to send Santa Claus around the streets of Woodlyn Crossing each holiday season; and to recognize "neighbors volunteering their time to help others, which too many times is just taken for granted," Kassoway said.
