Jewelry, Cash Taken in Lower Southampton Burglary, Police Say

Total value of missing item and money is about $8,000.

A Lower Southampton home was burglarized sometime after 10 a.m. Tuesday and victims are missing a total of about $8,000 in cash and jewelry, according to Lower Southampton police. 

The unnamed victim told police that sometime during the day, when he and his mother were at work, someone entered through the rear basement door by removing a piece of panel glass, then cutting the screen to unlock the door, the report said. 

The victims found that the master and spare bedrooms and the kitchen had been ransacked and $5,000 worth of jewelry and $3,000 in cash had been taken, police said.
