Governor Congratulates New Troopers at State Police Graduation

There were 12 graduates assigned to Troop M, which includes the Trevose station. Rachel K. Jones, of Bensalem, was among the graduates.

On Oct. 28, Gov. Tom Corbett congratulated the 91 men and women joining the ranks of the  following their graduation from the State Police Academy in Hershey. A dozen had a local connection.

“You are part of a proud tradition, made prouder still just a month ago by the heroism of the men and women whose ranks you join today,’’ Corbett said, referring to recent severe storms and floods in central and eastern Pennsylvania.

“As the flood bore down on homes, state troopers were pulling people from rooftops. Two of them literally risked their lives to bring a family to safety moments before their home collapsed and washed away.”
