The officers noted scratch marks on Willse's arm and red marks on the wife's neck, the report said. One of the officers escorted the wife back inside and asked for more information.

The woman explained that she, her husband and a friend had gone out to a bar to celebrate her birthday, but she left early after getting into an argument with her husband, police said.

When Willse came home, she told him to sleep on the couch, according to the report. The victim said her husband began calling her names and kicked her, police said. She kicked him back, then he grabbed and threw her off the bed, the report says. The victim told police he then punched her near her chin and grabbed her throat and arm, police said.

According to the statement, the officer questioned Willse, who confirmed they had an argument at the bar because he was looking at other women. He said she scratched him when they got into another argument at home, but he did not hit her, he pushed her away, according to the report.

When asked to demonstrate the push, Willse made a fist and pushed the side of the officer's face, police said. He was then placed under arrest.

Willse was arraigned via video before Judge Maggie Snow and ordered to not have contact with his wife.
