Bank Robberies on the Rise in Bucks County

Police and the FBI are investigating a number of bank robberies in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Bank robberies in Bucks and Montgomery counties are approaching a four-year high, according to a PhillyBurbs report.

The counties offer lots of bank branches in busy locations and easy access to major roads for a speedy getaway.

The FBI says the average bank heist was about $7,500 in 2011, the most recent year for which statistics are available.

Friday between 3-6 p.m. is among the most popular days/times for bank robberies, the FBI reports. Branch offices in a commercial district or shopping center are the most popular targets.

A number of local bank robberies remain unsolved.
