Home Safety Seminar for Elderly and Disabled

Holy Redeemer Lafayette, an independent retirement community located in Northeast Philadelphia, will host a special presentation, Safety Technology to Assist Aging in Place, on Tuesday, November 20th at 7 p.m. This free event will feature guest speaker Steve Abate, Vice President of Sales at Connect America, who will discuss a variety of medical emergency monitoring and alert systems for the elderly and disabled who wish to continue living independently at home.

Connect America was established in 1977 and currently monitors 170,000 subscribers nationwide. They are endorsed by Good Housekeeping, AARP and CVS Pharmacy. Services are offered with no cost for equipment, installation or activation; subscribers need only pay a monthly monitoring fee.

Mr. Abate is a Philadelphia native, and has been working with seniors and those with disabilities for 30 years.  In his role as Vice President of Sales, Steve educates aging adults and their caregivers on the importance of in-home safety.
