December 15: School Board to Adopt Proposed Preliminary Budget

Here are your five things for December 15, 2011.

1. Today is going to be overcast with showers at times and a high 56 degrees, according to Weather.com. Overnight, there will be cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing and a low of 46 degrees.

2. 's , sponsored by the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund, begins for the season today at 10 a.m. The gift wrapping booth, located in the Barnes & Noble/Sears Court, will be open during mall hours until Christmas Eve.

3. is back at the  Barnes & Noble today at 11 a.m. Story time will be all about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, and all the joy those holidays bring to kids around the world. New favorites such as A Bad Kitty Christmas and Hanukkah, oh, Hanukkah will be read today.

4. 's begins tonight at 6 p.m. Watch the tree lighting while listening to holiday songs and enjoying cookies and warm cider in the farmhouse. Children will have fun making crafts while parents can take some time to win great prizes. Bring your list because there will even be a visit from the Jolly Old Man himself with a surprise for each child!

5. The at Maple Point Middle School at 7 p.m. The board will consider adopting a proposed preliminary budget for the 2012-2013 school year. Here is the meeting's full agenda.
