A Week Ahead: May 30-June 3

Here is what's going on around Lower Southampton this week.

  • Monday: Memorial Day! All Neshaminy Schools will be closed as well as all driver license and photo centers. If you're planning on going out shopping, be sure to check out these in Lower Southampton.
  • Tuesday: Two brief ceremonies will be held at Neshaminy High School, one at 10 a.m. and on at 1 p.m., for the Helen Bates Scholarship and the Detective Christopher Jones Foundation Scholarship Fund to be awarded to two senior students. Neshaminy School District will continue its charter school public hearing at Maple Point Middle School. 
  • Wednesday: At 10 a.m., Officer Brian Walter will be honored at the Buckingham Township Building for his response to a recent incident in Upper Southampton. There will be a March of Dimes assembly at Lower Southampton Elementary. 
  • Thursday: Fifth grade students will be visiting to get a tour. The Lower Southampton Zoning Hearing Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the auditorium. The Animal Control Advisory Board will also meet at the at 7 p.m. in the library meeting room.
  • Friday: students will be participating in field day. Third through fifth grade activities will take place in the morning and kindergarten through second grade activities will be in the afternoon. The school is asking that students bring a water bottle and dress comfortably. Parents are welcome to attend, but must sign in and out in the office lobby.
