Best Friends Open Crossfit Gym in Feasterville

Crossfit Lifeforce may not seem like a new business to some Lower Southampton residents, but it's new and expanded location off of Pennsylvania Boulevard will open up the opportunity for more people people to discover the phenomena of Crossfit right in their own town.

Owners Jon Anderson and Steve Softly first started their Crossfit training together about two years ago on a football field. Softly told Patch that he and Anderson started gaining a crowd of people that started showing up to train with them. 

"I thought this could be something really good to get into, to start our own business," Softly said. At that time, Softly decided to become a certified Crossfit trainer; Anderson got involved in Crossfit about five years ago.

In April 2011, the two, who have been best friends since high school, began renting some space at Greg Long's Gym to get started.

"We eventually had to move out and get a bigger place...It was just too small for the amount of people coming," Softly said.

They moved into their new 3,000-square foot location at 940 Pennsylvania Boulevard (in suite H) in July, but Softly said that he and Anderson had work to do on the space, which they've been doing when they can. 

But now they are ready to open to the public, which they will be doing Saturday, Sept. 29 with their grand opening ceremony.

They will be holding four hours of workouts, one every hour, followed by food and beverages, Softly said as a sort of member appreciation.
