Weekend Planner: Big sMall Walk for Breast Cancer, Barbells for Boobs & More

Spend your weekend locally while raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. There are also a lot of other seasonal and family-friendly events in the area this weekend.

PumpkinFest at Shady Brook Farm
Where/when: Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Rd, Yardley, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Why go: Families can enjoy wagon rides, pick-your-own pumpkins and much more.

Valley Of Fear
Where/when: Phoenix Sport Club 301 E Bristol Rd, Feasterville Trevose, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 7 to 10 p.m.
Why go: Check out Valley of Fear's newest attraction: Zombie Escape Maze! Scream at the haunt's ever popular haunted hayride and scary tales as well.

Bensalem Lions Club Flea Market
Where/when: 
2201 Street Rd, Bensalem, Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Why go: 
Browse treasures and trinkets while enjoying hot dogs, pretzels, and refreshments are sold from the Bensalem Lions Club Food Truck.

Big sMall Walk for Breast Cancer
Where/when: Oxford Valley Mall, 2300 E Lincoln Hwy, Langhorne, Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Why go: Raise funds for the Charles A. and Betty Bott Cancer Center at Holy Redeemer Hospital at the 3rd annual two-mile indoor walk. After the walk, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about proper breast health care from Holy Redeemer experts, win prizes, and get free makeovers courtesy of Macy’s.
Cost: Pre-registration $10; Registration $15 the day of the event

Free Electronic Collection Event
Where/when:
Lower Southampton Township Building, 1500 Desire Ave, Feasterville Trevose, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why go:  
Bring in obsolete computers, CRT monitors, cameras, cell phones, fax machines, scanners, printers, TV’s, computer mice, wires and keyboards for recycling for free.

Barbells for Boobs
Where/when: Crossfit Lifeforce, 940 Pennsylvania Blvd, Suite H, Feasterville Trevose, Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Why go: Feasterville's newest Crossfit gym will be raising money to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and funds screening and/or diagnostic procedures in the prevention of breast cancer for low income and uninsured women and men.
Cost: Donations can be made on Crossfit Lifeforce's fundraising page.

Fall Family Festival by Progressions Behavioral Health
Where/when: 4610 E Street Rd, Trevose, Saturday, 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
Why go: This event is geared toward letting the community know what resources this office can provide families. There will also be face painting, a moon bounce, special guest appearances, food, resource fair and more.
Cost: Free

Women's Self-Defense Workshop
Where/when: Tri State Martial Arts Academy, 1323 Lincoln Hwy, Levittown, Saturday, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Why go: Women can learn how to defend themselves.

Bensalem High School's 40th Annual Parade Of Colors
Where/when: 
Bensalem High School, 4319 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, Saturday at 6 p.m.
Why go: Local high school marching bands will perform for judges at Bensalem's Memorial Field
Cost: Free

Det. Chris Jones Foundation Oktoberfest
Where/when: 
920 Trenton Rd, Fairless Hills, Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m. 
Why go: There will be food, beer, dance performances, a DJ, door prises and a 50/50 raffle will all be at the Oktoberfest Fundraiser. Proceeds will benefit the Det. Christopher Jones Foundation's scholarship fund.
Cost: $30/person

Soup and Salad Night
Where/when: Scottsville United Methodist Church, 2400 Brownsville Rd, Langhorne, Sunday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Why go: Help raise money for this church will enjoying all-you-can-eat soup and salad.
Cost: $9/person
