Trevose Fire Company Calls Cradles to Crayons Event a Success

Trevose Fire Company teamed up with Cradles to Crayons for a day of service.

Trevose Fire Company and Cradles to Crayons has a "very successful day" of service, according to a post on the fire company's website. 

The fire station was a collection point on Monday, Jan. 21 for items such as clothing, shoes, baby items, toys, school supplies and more. Cradles to Crayons volunteers were at the firehouse from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to collect the items so that they can be given to children living in poverty in the southeastern Pennsylvania area.

"We want to thank the community for pulling together and helping this great organization," Trevose Fire Company posted on its website.

Cradles to Crayons is year-round program that provides essential items to disadvantaged children for free, "by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need," according to information on the Patch events calendar.

The organization, which was founded in 2002, provides children from birth to age 12 who are living in low- income and homeless situations with "items they need to thrive—at home, at school and at play," according to the Cradles to Crayons website.
