Ride to Conquer Cancer is raising vital funds for Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.

Felicia Roton of Feasterville is gearing up for the 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. The 150-mile Philadelphia Ride brings together communities of riders, survivors and their supporters for one common goal: to conquer cancer.

Riders will travel through Pennsylvania countryside over two-days from October 11-12, 2014. Funds raised from this epic event will support cancer research, education and patient care programs at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.

It t is estimated that one in four deaths in the United States will be caused by cancer. Felicia rightly viewed the Ride to Conquer Cancer as a call to action nd has set a goal of raising $3,000 for the 2014 event. This is an achievable goal; however, it requires support in order for Felicia to achieve her fundraising

Felicia’s Uncle, Salvatore D’Amato a local business owner, recently died of cancer.  When Felicia’s Uncle Sal was diagnosed, he received his treatment and care at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. When Felicia learned of this ride, she could not think of a better way to remember her Uncle and to help conquer this disease. Like so many others, many of Felicia’s family and friends have also been touched by cancer or have been taken away from us too soon.  Therefore, Felicia knows that any help we can get to conquer and eradicate cancer as a cause of human suffering is significant.

This is the first annual Ride to Conquer Cancer in Philadelphia with 100% of all Funds raised by The Ride supporting cancer research, education and patient care programs at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.
