Forest Hill Cemetery is just as bad! I filed a complaint against them in Harrisburg (the RealRead MoreEstate Assoc is actually the dept to complaint to). My dad, a WWII Purple Heart recipient, is buried there in their Veterans section. My husband has had to take a weed wacker with us when we go to visit the grave site because the grass is overgrown by at least 12 inches and you can't even see the LARGE marble (double!) grave marker! My mother gets so upset when we visit that I don't like to take her up there very often and put her through the stress! Unfortunately, after telling us that they were going to do something I recently received a letter in the mail from the R/E Assoc., saying they didn't find anything wrong and were not going to fine them or make them fix anything! I even provided pictures of this mess and the investigator that was at my house looking into this mess said he was "outraged"! I wish I could find others who had loved ones buried in the veterans section of this cemetery and maybe (since theres's strength in numbers) we could do something about the horrible conditions. I'm sure the family of the grave site next to my fathers would be interested in doing something -- that large gravestone broke in half and the cemetery workers just tossed the two pieces in a heap on top of the grave! If we knew the veterans were this disrespected in this cemetery we would have had dad placed in Washington Crossing Cemetery where there IS respect for our veterans/loved ones!
