Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning

Sensitive vegetation could be damaged.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the surrounding area including Bucks and Montgomery counties.

The warning is in effect from 2-8 a.m. Saturday. A freeze warning indicates that sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely.

Low temperatures, mainly in the upper 20s and lower 30s from late tonight into early Saturday morning. According to the weather service, flowering fruit trees and other sensitive vegetation will suffer damage if not protected.

Here’s the local forecast:

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 36. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph decreasing to between 6 and 9 mph.

Saturday: A slight chance of rain after 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 58. West wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. North wind between 9 and 17 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.
