Storm Could Bring 7 Inches of Snow to Lower Southampton

The latest forecast for Lower Southampton greatly increased the amount of snow predicted in this weekend's winter storm.

Winter Storm "Nemo" could bring 3 to 7 inches of snow to the Lower Southampton area Friday and Saturday.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service predicts a half inche of  during the day and up to 3 to 7 inches at night. A trace amount of ice is also possible.

That is a radical change from earlier forecast, which predicted far less snow for the Lower Bucks County region.

You could tell the snow forecast had increased Thursday afternoon by looking at Street Road through Lower Southampton. The roadway had a distinct white coating of brine on it. Private crews were also spotted spreading rock salt outside businesses on Bustleton Pike.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for southeast Pennsylvania, including the Doylestown area on Thursday afternoon.

So, what's it going to be? Who knows.

But we will continue to monitor the latest weather reports and publish updates.

(Head out to the store for eggs and bread and milk now. :)
