Middletown police officers working the Christmas morning shift closed the intersection of Woodbourne and Oxford Valley roads to investigate a serious accident.

Police asked motorists to avoid the roadway as officers conducted an investigation into the crash.

According to MontcoAlerts' Twitter feed, emergency personnel were dispatched the location for a multi-vehicle accident just after 10 a.m. The report also indicated that several people were trapped.
