Now that the former IHOP on Street Road in the Feasterville section of the township has been taken down, crews have been working hard to build a Pizza Hut location at the site.
The A-framed resturant was part of Lower Southampton for many years and closed several months ago.

Who approved Pizza Hut's business in Lower South? Was it the Board of Supervisors? Did anyone stop to consider that Lower South is already SATURATED with pizza shops? A great deal more thought could have gone into attracting a different type of restaurant or other business. This is ridiculous.

We all ready have three or more Chinese restaurants, coffee shops and pizza restaurant in our area. Can't say much about the BOS, cause if they reject or deny permit approval, the proposed business/established, can take them to court, and get it over turned. LSTWP does not have the funds to spend on court costs. So whether you like it or not, we really can not do anything about it. We are no longer Lower Southampton Twp, which at one time, was a nice place to live. NOW we are just a part of Philadelphia, if the sign "Welcome To Lower Southampton Twp" was at the corner of Bustleton and County Line Road, would you know you entered into LSTWP or would you still believe you were in Phila?

I meant there "IS" a sign at County Line Road and Bustleton Rd, not "if".

Sometimes I just can't seem to understand, the older I get the more disturbed I get. If this is so hard to stop or someone is again afraid of the courts, then who needs the Board of Supervisors. I thought we have courts in our town. Get some fight in you, and stop letting this town deteriorate even more. The last thing this town needs is another Pizza joint. I personally will not go there as I am very disturbed seeing this sort of thing happening when the site could have been so productive.

You can't deny a Business to operate if they meet all of the regulations, conditions, and more importantly if that business is the same as the previous business (restaurant) just because "we have enough pizza places". They have a legal right to operate and if we denied them they would appeal to the courts in Doylestown and win. Our local court has no jurisdiction in these matters. This case has not come in front of the B.O.S. nor do I think it will because this use, a Restaurant, is permitted at the location.

Sadly, Feasterville lost it awhile ago. Between the 3 Hamptons, LST is last in appeal but scores high looking like crap. Agree w/you, Kevin, you can't tell where Philly begins/ends. Dealing with Street Road and other main roads may be tough to plan around, but how do surrounding townships have the power to enforce what they want the community to look like? Remember the Richboro KFC (now a Taco Bell)? It didn't look at all like Feasterville’s KFC. Why was that? Because their zoning and planning officials developed plans for their community’s future which said “NO” and it was enforced?

Has anyone looked at this? A printed copy is supposed to be in the library too.

All residents are welcome to attend LST meetings. Watching the meeting on TV does NOT have the same effect on the BOS as do seats filled with residents. You can’t ask questions or effectively add your two cents at a TV.
Get involved and join or try to get appointed to one of the various boards and committees. Members are volunteers who, like you, are busy and don't have much time but want to provide a community in which to live and raise their families. Don’t give up – LST can be improved!
