Feasterville Sonic Drive-In Closes

The Feasterville Sonic Drive-In on Bustleton Pike closed Monday, July 25.

The on Bustleton Pike closed its doors Monday, July 25. According to a statement issued by Sonic, Sonic and the franchisee who owns and operates the drive-in have been evaluating this location.

"After careful consideration, the franchisee made the difficult decision to close the location...The decision to close a drive-in is never easy," the company said in the statement.

The situation, according to the statement, "involves a contract between two parties that must be resolved before Sonic Corporation, as the franchisor, can step in to assist in facilitating the sale or closure of a location."

According to a report by PhillyBurbs, the drive-in was closed due to the franchise owner not paying two month's rent to the property owner, Mike Meister. Meister, along with Bucks County Sheriff's officers and a locksmith company were at the Sonic Drive-In this morning to change the locks.

The Sonic, which opened a year ago, is owned by Patrick Lim of Lower Makefield and his father Jaime Lim, as reported by PhillyBurbs. The two also own the Bensalem Sonic Drive-In.

All employees will be relocated to nearby Sonic Drive-In locations, according to the statement.

Lower Southampton was unable to reach Patrick Lim for comment today. His home number is unlisted and cell phone had been disconnected.
