The Feasterville Fire Company is Lower Southampton Township's designated emergency shelter for residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

The shelter is now open to those residents that need it. Accommodations provided at the shelter include a kitchen, restrooms, generators, cots, blankets and handicapped accessibility.

Residents are being asked to bring clothes, medications, toiletries, food and bedding to the shelter should they need its accomodations.

This is not a pet-friendly shelter due the the anticipated number of people the fire company expects to provide services to.

Fire marshal Bill Oettinger said that should it be necessary, Neshaminy School District buildings will be utilized as emergency shelters as well. Patch will update this article should the schools open as shelters.
