Lower Southampton Police are currently investigating the strong armed robbery of an elderly woman in Trevose.
On Tuesday, Jan. 15 around 12:16 p.m., police received the report that a 92-year-old woman had just had her purse stolen off of her arm in front of Precision Cuts on the 500 block of Andrews Road and that the subject fled on foot.
A witness told officers that he saw a suspicious-looking person standing on the walkway directly in front of the stores in that area.
The actor was descibed as wearing a black or dark blue hoodie that was tightly covering his hair and a scruffy smaller beard. He was in his 20s, about 5'8" and had a thin build.
Bensalem Police reported to the scene with their canine unit and searched the area, but were not successful in finding the subject or the purse.
The management company of the buildings told police that the surveillance cameras in front of the store were not working at that time.
The total loss to the victim was $35.

I'd chip in for a DNA test if they saw the guy touch anything. Losers like that need a punch in the head.

oh, and it probably wasn't a good idea to print "the surveillance cameras in front of the store were not working"

The guy literally ran past my house, looking all suspect with a purse and he ran through the lawn across the street from my house, jumped a neighbor's fence and then lost sight of him. There was a few people chasing far behind him but lost him and little later the polce were walking all through the area with K9.

"The actor" ? Really? What race was the criminal? White? Black? Asian? Hispanic? The Patch is negligent if this criminal strikes again! The Press has a responsibility to accurately inform the public. Would you be so vague and still not give an accurate description of the guy to look out for in a rape or child abduction scenario? If not to inform the public, why do you, the Patch exist? To advertise garage sales? Disgrace.

He was white, I saw him. I think patch reported all the info they were given with regards to the description and the term "actor" might be better fitting then the common alternative "suspect" since there is no presumption of innocence for unnamed criminals.
