Lower Southampton Police are investigating a burglary in which the unknown subject stole Christmas presents from an apartment.

The complainant reportedly left her Chalet Village apartment on the unit block of Heights Lane around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 21 and returned at 11 a.m. to find some Christmas presents she had wrapped were ripped open and some were missing. She also discovered the lower level back door was unlocked, which she reported was never left open or unlocked.

During the investigation, officers determined that once inside the subject saw the pile of wrapped presents and tried to determine the contents by ripping the corners of the wrapping.

Nothing was missing from the upper level of the apartment, but the complainant said there were $600 worth of assorted gift cards and an Ipad missing.
